Novel Coronavirus outbreak: Please note that DirectAsia Travel Insurance does not cover any claims arising from Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak for trips to or passing through the following destinations if the policy or trip is purchased on these dates or later: 22 Jan 2020 for Wuhan, 23 Jan 2020 for Hubei Province, 27 Jan 2020 for Mainland China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan), 23 Feb 2020 for Daegu and Cheongdo, 03 Mar 2020 for northern Italy, Japan & the Republic of Korea. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has first declared that the Coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic in China now constitutes a public health emergency of international concern, any claims arising globally from this known event will not be covered for policies/trips purchased on/after 31 Jan 2020. With the announcement by WHO on 12 Mar 2020 declaring Covid-19 is now a pandemic, there will be no coverage for any claims arising from Covid-19 for any trips departing Singapore on/after 12 Mar 2020.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has alerted the public regarding scams using the COVID-19 outbreak as bait. If an individual falls victim to these claims, the scammer may ask for login credentials or for personal information. Please be advised to be mindful of such calls or emails and always verify with DirectAsia if you receive any such requests. Never give out your personal credentials or DirectAsia My Account access to other individuals. If you suspect you have provided your credentials or My Account access approval to unauthorised parties, call us immediately at 6665-5555
Hong Kong Protests: Please note that DirectAsia Travel Insurance does not cover any claims arising from the protests in Hong Kong as it is considered a known event since 21 July 2019. However, claims which are not related to this event such as medical expenses due to illness sustained during the trip are payable subject to policy terms and conditions.
