Is Annual Trip plan right for you?
The honest answer depends on how often you travel
Annual Trip plans generally become better value the more often you travel. If you only take one or two trips a year, a Single Trip plan is usually simpler and more cost effective. But if you travel three or more times a year, an Annual Trip plan often works out better overall, especially with the convenience of having cover already in place for every trip.
For families, it also means less worry about arranging travel insurance every time someone travels. Once your plan is in place, everyone covered under the policy is ready for the next journey.
The real question isn’t just whether an Annual Trip plan is cheaper. It’s whether it suits the way you travel.
| Your travel pattern | Single trip cost (est.) | Annual — worth it? |
| 1 trip a year | ~$30–70 per trip | Single trip is simpler and likely cheaper |
| 2 trips a year | ~$60–140 total | Close — get quotes for both and compare |
| 3 trips a year | ~$90–210 total | Annual often cheaper ✓ |
| 4+ trips a year | ~$150–280+ total | Annual almost always cheaper ✓ |

Choosing your region
Pick the region that best suits your trip
Annual Trip plans are based on regions rather than individual destinations. One selected region can cover all your trips throughout the year, so the key is choosing the region that best fits how you travel. If you expect to travel beyond your usual destinations, it may be worth choosing the broader region.

Optional benefits
More flexibility for different trips throughout the year
All optional covers are available on Annual Trip plans. Unlike Single Trip plans, you don’t need to decide everything upfront — optional covers can be added before individual trips throughout your policy year.
| Adventure cover Add at renewal or before any trip begins. Once added, it applies to every eligible trip for the rest of your policy year. Add it before your ski trip and it will still apply to your later diving trips during the same policy year. | Sports equipment Add before any trip where you’re travelling with sports gear. Covers damage, loss, or theft of your equipment while in transit or storage during that trip and your other trips for the rest of the policy year once added. |
| Special events cover Must be added before each specific trip where you have a booked event — and the event must be booked first. Per-trip, not across the policy year. | Rental car excess Add before the specific trip where you’ll be renting a car. Applies per trip rather than across the full policy year. |

FAQ
Common questions about annual travel insurance
How many trips can I take on an annual policy?
There’s no limit to the number of trips you can take during your 12 month policy period. Each individual trip can last up to 90 consecutive days, and every trip must begin and end in Singapore.
Does my annual policy renew automatically?
Yes. Your Annual Trip plan renews automatically before the end of your policy period, helping to keep your cover in place without interruption.
If you’d like to cancel, change your region, or update your optional covers before renewal, just let us know before your renewal date.
Call us on 6665 5555 or email [email protected] for assistance.
Can I add optional benefits after the policy has already started?
Yes. Most optional covers can be added before any trip begins during your policy year. If you’re already travelling, the cover will apply from your next journey.
Special Events Cover must also be added after your event booking or invitation has been confirmed.
What happens if I need to stay longer than 90 days on one trip?
Annual Trip cover applies for up to 90 consecutive days per trip. If you expect to stay longer, contact us before the 90-day limit to discuss extending your cover.
If I make a claim on one trip, does it affect future trips?
Your cover limits reset with each new trip, so a claim on one journey won’t reduce the cover available for future trips.
However, any medical condition claimed under a previous trip will be treated as a pre-existing medical condition for future trips under the same Annual Trip plan.
Can I change my region if I need to travel somewhere not covered?
Region upgrades during the policy year may not always be possible. If you expect your travel plans to expand beyond your selected region, it’s usually worth choosing the broader region from the start — the premium difference is usually modest and saves the complication later.
Is annual travel insurance worth it if I only take 2 trips a year?
At two trips a year, it’s usually quite close — so it’s worth comparing both quotes side by side.
If there’s a good chance you’ll take a third trip during the year, an Annual Trip plan often becomes better value for the added convenience alone. If your plans are fixed at two trips, a Single Trip plan is usually simpler and more cost effective.
