"As before, it was a breeze and a pleasant experience when I submitted my claim for delayed baggage in China.

Day 1 (2nd Oct )- Called Direct Asia to inform of my claim.  Received  email confirmation and instructions to submit relevant documents to support my claim by same day.

Day 2 (3rd Oct )- Claims officer Ms Erin Goh called to confirm my claim and my supporting documents.

Day 3 (4 Oct)- received email from Erin informing that my claim had been approved!!

9 Oct - received bank transfer for my claim!

What a record! 

We had a total of 25 friends who were in the same predicament of delayed baggage. Everyone submitted their claims to their respective insurers about the same time.

As of 10 Oct, 3 friends  with Direct Asia and one friend with another insurance company received our claims.

Others were informed by their insurers that the processing of their claims would take 6-8 weeks or 21 days!

I recalled some 20 years ago, I bought annual travel insurance with an insurance company for over 10 years. I did not make a single claim during this 10 years even when I missed my flight connections due to weather conditions, had to pay for my own accommodation etc, or when I was sick when overseas. On the 11th year, I fell sick during a trip and was admitted to the hospital for few hours. My family contacted the insurer. No one tried to help. No case file was opened. When I submitted my claims upon return to Singapore, it was a nightmare. It took almost 6 months before my claims was approved! 

I have changed insurers since and eventually joined Direct Asia. I am now a loyal customer.

Now, many friends from the same trip are planning to change their insurers to Direct Asia too!
