Research shows that if you’re using any mobile phone when driving, you're four times more likely to crash. In fact, you have significantly worse reaction times than someone driving after drinking alcohol at the legal limit.
Not only that, texting or emailing while driving doubles your reaction times and makes drivers more likely to miss a flashing light, according to research. So the message is clear, using a phone whether to text or call someone even when using a hands-free device puts you and your passengers at risk. Singapore law and using hand-phones whilst driving
Offenders may be prosecuted in court and disqualified from driving. The offender's hand-phone and SIM card may also be seized to help investigations. These may be forfeited by the court upon conviction. Court Penalties: First time offender - Fine not exceeding $1,000.00 or jail sentence of up to 6 months or both. Second or subsequent conviction - Fine not exceeding $2,000.00 or jail sentence of up to 12 months or both.

Using a hand phone whilst driving is an increasing trend on Singapore's roads. DirectAsia.com, together with Adrian Pang’s theatre company PANGDEMONiUM! Productions, has launched a video campaign to address this and other disturbing trends on our roads.
The DirectAsia.com road safety videos are targeted at both parents and children and focus on dangerous behaviours such as not using seatbelts, drink driving and using a mobile phone while driving. The videos communicate a serious message but deliver this in a way that is intended to reach a broad audience using humour.
The videos were produced and directed by Tracie Pang and star Adrian Pang and both their sons, Xander and Zachary.
