Do I qualify for DirectAsia.com’s personal accident insurance?
The policyholder must be aged 18 years and above. We'll cover you and your spouse up to the age of 65. For renewal we'll cover you both up to the age of 70. Your policy can include your children too, from aged 15 days up to the age of 18 years. If your child is not married and still a full-time student then we'll cover them up to the age of 24.
We have to exclude some people so that we can keep your premium as low as possible.

How do you calculate the premium?
Your personal accident premium is calculated based on a number of factors including your age, profession, and whether you engage in risky activities in sports or in your work. Your premium is also based on the level of coverage you choose. We have three levels of coverage to choose from.
What happens when I get my quote?
You can get a personal accident insurance quote by following our simple step by step guide.
You can print your policy documents straight away. Once you receive your policy you have 14 days in which to decide whether this policy is right for you. If you cancel it within this 14 day period you'll receive a full refund, provided you haven't made a claim.
If you need time to gather more information, then you can save your quote and go back to it at a later date. Your quote will be saved in our system and is valid for 90 days.
Can I pay monthly?
Yes, you can pay your premium in monthly instalments with your credit card at no additional cost.
Can I use my friend or family member’s credit card to make my premium payment?
No, this would not be possible. We need to take care of our customer’s interests and security, so the credit cardholder must be the policyholder. Your security matters to us. You may want to consider payment by cash or cheque.
How much cover should I get?
You need to take into account your own circumstances and needs when deciding how much personal accident cover to take out.

How much your family would need without your salary to support them.
How much your family would need to pay towards medical bills, funeral costs or renovations to a home if you or any of your loved ones became disabled.

It excludes gradual physical or mental deterioration, diseases, sicknesses and infections, even if such conditions result from or are connected with the accident
You are not covered if you an accident whilst actively engaged as a professional sports person, entertainer, car or motorcycle racer, or participating in rock climbing, caving, pot-holing, mountaineering that necessitates the use of ropes, sky diving, parachuting, bungee jumping, taking part in or practicing for speed or time trials, sprints or any form of race (other than on foot or swimming), rafting or canoeing involving white water rapids, underwater activities necessitating the use of underwater compressed air or gas, boxing, wrestling, jet skiing, competitive snow or ice sports (including ski racing in major events), off-piste skiing, ski jumping and the use of bob sleighs or skeletons, hunting, expeditions or the crewing of a vessel from one country to another.

We make it simple for you to take out our cover for immediate peace of mind. No time-consuming risk assessment or costly medical certificate is needed. You’ll need your NRIC and that of your family members if included on your policy.
Do I have to report an accident to the police?
Make a police report if an injury or death resulted from a traffic accident, crime or malicious act.

What if I’m insured under another policy for the same loss or damage?
You may only be covered under one DirectAsia.com personal accident policy for the same loss or damage. If you are covered under more than one, we will consider you as being covered under the policy with the highest benefit level only.

Because we are an online company, you can easily make changes to your personal details 24/7, at a time that is convenient for you. Most of your insurance details can be managed from our website. Your own space stores all your insurance documents safely online. You will also be able to change your particulars, including contact information and much more - all online!

How do I renew my policy?
We make it easy for you to renew your policy. This can be done automatically and we will deduct the amount from your credit card when your renewal is due. If you don't opt for automatic renewal we will send you an invitation to renew.
What if I have a dispute with DirectAsia.com?
We are committed to providing you with quality insurance products and services but if any dispute arises out of your insurance policy that we cannot resolve between us, then that dispute may be submitted to the Singapore Mediation Centre for settlement by mediation in accordance with the mediation procedure in force.
Can I cancel my policy?
You can cancel this policy at any time by giving us 7 days' notice. The refund premium will be pro-rated subject to a minimum amount of S$15.
Is my personal accident insurance policy covered by the Policy Owners' Protection scheme?
The Policy Owners' Protection Scheme (PPF) protects the interests of policyholders in the event an insurer fails. It provides added assurance that there is a compensation scheme for policy owners to reduce the financial impact on individuals in the event an insurer defaults. The PPF Scheme is administered by The Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation (SDIC).
