Motorcycle Fun Day Out at SingaporeBikes.com Anniversary Roadshow
It was a sunny Saturday morning, as we moved in to setup our booth at SCAPE Orchard for SingaporeBikes.com roadshow, celebrating 11 years of being the biggest online motor biking community in Singapore.
The Never Ending Preparation
So much time and effort were put in by the organizer on the night before, pile of boxes and motorbikes were moved around, but still it’s not good enough to reach perfection, hence more touch-up required even on the event day itself
Meanwhile, over at DirectAsia.com’s booth, the crew erected a backdrop between ours and organizer’s booth, a special space plan for our “fun activity” later. The size of the backdrop is huge, and it took 4 people to put up the 10m x 5m canvas, making sure it’s secured properly (we don’t want accident to happen to anyone!)
At the same time, we prepared a small counter with facility for visitor to experience getting insurance quote online, and buying it instantly too.
Almost ready now, you could really spot us from afar.
Tadaaa… Check out our little Vespa and matching helmet! Perhaps you wonder what they’re for? Read on to find out more.
Let’s Get the Party Started
Before long, steady streams of visitors came through to register on-site and collect their goodie bag – it has a very nice teddy dress up in biker outfit and lucky draw chit for a chance to loads of prizes and grand prize a motorcycle.
Check out those prizes and the grand prize of SuperMotard 200cc, the most popular motorcycle in Singapore and Malaysia.
Over 100 items of lucky draw prizes
During the event, there were road safety talk by Traffic Police and interview with Cheryl Tay, the famous female automobile blogger in Singapore.

Meanwhile at the booth, our on-site customer service team was fairly busy with customers who recognize our brand. Some visitors came by to get a quote on their motorcycle insurance and car insurance, and some came to say “Hi! Good to see you here” and share with us how happy they’re and how much they’ve saved on their insurance premiums. A few happy customers even brought their friends and families to our booth and “half-threatening” them to get a quote from DirectAsia.com or else (Haa, thought that was very funny in a nice way, too bad I didn’t capture that on camera).
Our presence drew attention from fellow insurance agent, who expressed his disappointment about DirectAsia.com’s business practice of “no middlemen, no agency commission” which has shaken up the insurance industry in Singapore. They said it was impossible for them to compete with our prices, effectively saying that they had so many extra mouths to feed! It’s nice to get some attention from one of the traditional insurance company’s and as all is fair in competition, we took his friendly comment as a compliment indeed.

It’s all fun at DirectAsia.com booth
So, you wonder why we have such a huge brand logo as backdrop and a nicely done up Vespa with matching red helmet (yes, it’s our product icon!)? Well, it was for our “Wackiest Pose” Challenge of course! Visitors who dare to give us their best and wackiest pose, post it our DirectAsia.com’s Facebook will get the chance to win $100 petrol voucher. Some visitors were too shy to even try, but some were daring enough to participate, check out some of them here
These two are really lovely couple!
Go, Teddy! Go DirectAsia!
“Dear, will you give me a ride?”

Very friendly furry friends stop by at the booth too!
And highlight of the event, was when all race queens gathered together for a group pose at our booth (it was the first time the Vespa & Red Helmet got so much attentions LOL).
Can you spot the Red Helmet?
All Party Must Come To an End
It was a super hot and sunny afternoon on 2nd day, event ground get really crowded with visitors waiting around hoping for their names to be called as one of the lucky draw winners. Anticipation peaked at 5pm, when the DJ announced…and the winner of the SuperMotard 200cc motorcycle goes to…
One of the crew who bought the goodie-bag coz of the cute teddy, has the lucky ticket!
The 2-day event ended as fast as it started, it was great fun and we hope to join more of such events. Really good to see friendly faces and engaging with the crowd and listening to their stories and passion for motorcycle and what they think about DirectAsia.com fit into their lifestyle needs as well.
Good night, White-Knight; you’ve done us proud
So, Look out for the next post where we’ll share with you more interesting pictures taken during the event.
